Our History

The Reonet group of companies have their roots with the establishment of a consulting engineering practice in 1988. Reonet started trading in its current form in 1999 with the establishment of Reonet (Pty) Ltd, then the water division of a large South African consulting engineering company. The present management of the Reonet group bought Reonet as a going concern, through a management buyout, in 2007.

In 2008, the shareholders of Reonet concluded a B-BBEE transaction and restructured the business into three operating divisions, each servicing distinct market sectors and value chains in the utilities industry.

In 2012, Reonet successfully entered the managed property sector where it currently offers a range of managed utility services through its acclaimed RealSens™ automated remote meter reading (AMR) system.

In 2013, two more operating divisions were added to the Reonet Group in order to focus on the commercial property sector and the municipal sector respectively.

Reonet has a long and successful track record in the implementation of automated meter reading solutions, meter data management (MDM) services, managed utility services and water and energy efficiency projects, in both the private and public sectors.
